About

What VMAXCHECK is

VMAXCHECK is a free internet speed test with network diagnostics. It measures your connection with M-Lab NDT7 infrastructure and explains the results in plain language, without an account.

How it works

Clicking CHECK SPEED connects your browser directly to a nearby M-Lab measurement server. Download, upload and latency are measured end to end, then rated for everyday uses such as streaming, gaming and video calls.

Data handling

Starting a test means you agree that Measurement Lab processes technical measurement data, including the public IP used for that test. Test history stays in your own browser. Details are on the privacy and methodology pages.

Who operates this service

VMAXCHECK is operated by Anna Sosnowski. The imprint contains the operator's contact details. To report an incorrect explanation or a tool problem, email contact at vmaxcheck dot com with the page URL, the steps you took and what you expected. Please omit private IP addresses, account credentials and personal network logs.

Measurement, interpretation and limitations

M-Lab supplies the measurement infrastructure. VMAXCHECK adds the interface, local history, result interpretation and network lookups. The interpretation is based on rules, not a diagnosis by a technician. A single slow test cannot establish whether the cause is Wi-Fi, a busy device, the provider or the route to the test server.

The guides explain practical checks; their examples are illustrative, not measurements of your connection. Use comparable tests on the same device and note the connection type and time before drawing a conclusion. Registry lookups describe public registration data and are not identity or safety checks.

See the measurement methodology and M-Lab's NDT documentation for the measurement's scope.
