English usage guide
Check a domain registration without confusing it with hosting
Enter a bare domain name such as example.com. Omit https://, ports and page paths. The tool requests its RDAP registration record and displays available status, event, nameserver and entity information.
Try it step by step
- Start with the registered domain rather than a full webpage URL.
- Read event labels carefully: registration, last change and expiration refer to different events.
- Compare listed nameservers with an NS lookup if you are investigating a DNS change.
What the result means
A registrar manages the domain registration. A nameserver answers DNS queries. Neither field alone identifies the web host or proves who wrote a site. Some registrant details are redacted or absent in public records.
Limits of this lookup
Registration is not a safety rating. A missing RDAP response does not prove a domain is available to buy or that its website is down. Registry support, temporary failures and input errors can all affect the response.
